Boomer Reunion 2009

We have much to share from our recent travels to Minnesota and Wisconsin! I don't even really know where to begin - we had so much fun!

Once again, the Vanden Booms gathered at the cabin in Hayward, WI, to celebrate...well...US! Laughter and love abound when we are all together. This year was special for several reasons: All of my mom's brothers and sisters were there, which is becoming harder and harder with kids' schedules, there were a couple of special celebrations, which will be appearing in separate blog posts, and it was Adam's first family reunion.

My mom with her family:
Aunt Paula, Unco Jimmy, My Mom, My Grandma, Unco Matt, Aunt Mary, Aunt Beth, Unco Kris
(We call our Uncles "Unco," just so you aren't confused for the rest of the post - it's not a reoccurring typo.)
Cousin Shawna and Me
Cousins Claire and Shawna and Me - I love these girls MUCHO!
What to do with all these kids running around? Obviously, have a Christmas tree drawing contest. Note Grace's interpretation of a Christmas tree in the bottom left.
Adam and I were so glad that daddy could get away from school and come join us at the reunion for a couple of days.
Phil had some good time out in the boat and some good game time with cousins.
Some good chats, here with Unco Bob and Unco Matt.
Some good time with Adam.
Speaking of Adam, everyone was very interested in whatever Adam was doing. He always attracted a crowd. Then again, it may have been the box of chocolate donuts sitting in the middle of the counter...who knows?
Adam got tons of love during our trip from his Unco Matty and soon-to-be Aunt Jess. He LOVES them!
Adam also spent quality time with Great Aunts and Uncos. Here he is with Great Aunt Paula and Great Grandma.
First boat ride! You can tell he's not a fan of the life vest.
And they're off! Once the boat started he had a great time. Thanks, Unco Bob, for a fun ride!
Adam even logged some time behind the wheel! Shhhh don't tell - he's a little under age.
Dinner at the Beechmore. Always a good time.
First time swimming in a lake. It was a bit colder than he's used to in the pool, but he did pretty well.
We had a great time! More posts to come from our Minnesota/Wisconsin Extravaganza!!!
