24 Weeks with Baby Girl

Here is an obligatory belly pic for all you curious cats out there.

This pregnancy has been so mild compared to my last one - thank you God! I am feeling pretty good at this point. I've been having the same hip and back pain that I did with Adam, but I just got some egg crate foam for sleeping that has helped with that quite a bit. I think Pooser thinks I got the foam for her - yeah right!

Happy Halloween! The Year of the Tiger - Part II

ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Since Adam's Tiger costume still fit him this year, we decided that 2010 could be the Year of the Tiger, Part II. The costume fit him much better this year, and he was really excited to wear it.

Here is a flashback to 2009, the Year of the Tiger, Part I. He could stand while holding on to things at that point, but he couldn't walk. What a difference a year makes!!!

My good friend from Ohio, Janelle, was visiting with her two boys, so we all got to go trick-or-treating together. Lucas (far right, as Snake Eyes) is five, so he's a pro at this. Axel (as Yoda) and Adam kind of just followed his lead - when they could keep up!
Here is our best effort at getting a picture with all the kids.

When we returned home, Adam couldn't wait to dump out his candy and inspect it.

He doesn't really "get" candy yet - which is fine by me. Save those teeth for as long as possible!

He also enjoyed answering the door for the trick-or-treaters.

Hope you all had fun Halloweens!

Really???

So, like I said, we've been doing a bunch of home improvement, particularly on the main floor. We're trying to get it all done by Thanksgiving, when my parents and sister come out. We love our house a lot, but as many of you have probably experienced, when you start to dig beneath the surface to remodel, you often find some curious things. We have had many moments when we discovered some interesting choices made by previous owners, causing us to just look at each other and say, "Really???"

You'd think we'd be used to it by now, but the latest one really had us going. We redid the bathroom on the main floor (new paint, new fixtures, new toilet). Before we actually bit the bullet and bought a new toilet, Phil wanted to see if the old one was salvageable (it had been leaking and discoloring the tile).

He comes in from the garage and says, "Look what I found in the tank of the toilet." I wasn't sure I really wanted to look, but I was NOT expecting this when I turned around.

Really???

Yeah, that glass (actually a very nice glass) was sitting in the tank of the toilet. We later discovered that it was actually serving a purpose - holding down a valve or something.
I'll let you know if we go to knock out a wall and find buried treasure or anything like that.

Some Fall Fun

I realized that I haven't blogged in a while. We've been busy around here with home improvements, preparing for all the guests we will have in November (yay!), and enjoying the fall weather. I don't have too many pictures - it's a little harder to juggle the camera and Adam now that he has perfected his running skills. Here are just a few shots from the past month or so.

We went over to Cox Farms for their Fall Festival. It was pretty cool - lots of animals, slides, and fall food. Here are Adam and Daddy in the corn maze. It was really well done!

More fun with Daddy. Adam loves to "play rough" with Daddy and thinks it's pretty cool to have horsey rides.

Hopefully Phil's back can hold out!

Riding off into the sunset... (nice shot of Phil, right?)

We also have had our first couple of fires in our fireplace. As you can see, Pooser is pleased with this situation. We also love having a wood-burning fireplace, as both of our parents had them when we were growing up.
