Easter 2012

Sadly, Daddy had to work over Easter, so the kids and I packed up and flew to Minnesota to visit family. We had a lot of fun and the kids had many new experiences to enjoy.

Look at this cute little Easter bunny!

We spent most of the time with my parents up in the cities, but also went down to Albert Lea to visit Grandpa and Grandma Swenson. For years, they have done an Easter candy hunt in their yard for all the cousins, so they did a mini-version for Adam and Clara. It was so fun since Adam actually understood the idea of hunting for candy/eggs for the first time this year.
He found all his candy (with a little help from Grandpa).

I helped Clara find her candy and she was very excited to put it in her basket.

Examining the fruits of their labor.
Adam kept saying, "One more chocolate, please."

Clara just wanted to keep putting the chocolate eggs in her basket and then dumping them out again.

Grandma Ann didn't have any bunny ears at her house, but we found some alternative head wear for Clara.

We dyed Easter eggs. Once Grandma showed Adam the idea, he was totally on board.

He loved it. I think he had five eggs going at one point and he only tried to drink the water twice.

Clara had a different agenda.

Adam loved playing the piano with Aunt Grace. He was really into this song.

My mom bought the kids their Easter outfits. They totally rocked them at church on Sunday - totally adorable. We had a great day celebrating Christ with a nice service at my childhood church, and a pancake breakfast after service.

You'll have to believe me when I tell you that this was my BEST attempt at getting a picture of both kids together in their outfits. I told Adam to smile, but he desperately wanted to get up and play.

After church, the kids received their Easter gifts. (Clara changed out of her dress. Unfortunately, it's not the best for crawling. I hope she'll be walking by Cousin Claire's wedding.)

Poor Unco Matty! He has a broken ankle and has to wear DAS BOOOOOT for a couple of months. We found out he won't have to have surgery, though, so we are thankful for that.

Egg Hunt! Adam was totally into it, which was really fun for me to see.

He stopped to count his eggs a few times.

He really had to work for this one!

Clara did an excellent job collecting her eggs in her basket. (Notice that Adam has already cracked one of his eggs open and is eating the contents. Luckily only some of the eggs had chocolate inside - others had Teddy Grahams.)

Clara also enjoyed the Teddies. Also notice the beautiful weather! Sadly, it didn't last, but we had lovely days for our Easter celebrating.
Thank you, Lord, for the precious gift of your Son and for His sacrifice on the cross.
The kids and I were so thankful to celebrate Easter with people we love.
