Entertainment

I know I've been a little slow at updating the blog from our vacation and other recent events. I had hoped that pregnancy and I would get along a little better this time around, but I haven't been feeling so hot in the evenings.
It's hard to complain, though, when I've got some pretty good entertainment around here - provided by this guy...
Where does he come up with this stuff???

Hmmm...probably from this guy.
Adam got a package from Grandma Ann a couple days ago, which included these crazy glasses. Fun times!
I love these boys - they crack me up.

Coloring with Grandma

This photo warms my heart!

Pretty excited to be coloring with his Grandma Peg!

Journey to Curacao

Phil and I finally got to cash in all the Marriott points that Phil earned from his work travel! We've been waiting for Adam to sleep through the night so we could feel ok leaving him - and it FINALLY happened! It was so great to get a way for a bit, just the two of us and totally relax. We did miss Adam, and talked about him often, but it was pretty nice to be able to sleep, read, and do exactly what we wanted to for the first time in a while. Actually, we pretty much did NOTHING the whole time - it was glorious!

Some pictures I took from the plane. Curacao is part of the Dutch Antilles, and is off the coast of Venezuela.

The view of the pool and ocean from the hotel. It was nice that the pool was right on the beach, so you didn't have to choose between the two. Rough, I know.

There were lizards everywhere! This one was right outside our room in the morning. There were big ones like this one, and little teeny tiny ones.

Phil doing his impression of an iguana running...

View looking back over the pool to the hotel.

My one activity (besides laying by the pool, laying by the ocean, and eating) was to get my nails done. Phil got his scuba certification completed and did four dives right off the beach near our hotel. He loved it!

There was a swim up bar! Lots of virgin margaritas for me! They had good chicken wings, too.

We are so thankful that Phil's parents could come and be with Adam while we had some time away. We are so fortunate! Adam did great and had a great time with his grandparents.

The Last Lobster Post...Maybe

Ok, I know we've had a lot of lobster posts since we've moved here. I promise this will be the last one. I'll just post the pictures that give some new information...

Matt tried to teach his lobster to open a beer. If Mr. Lobster would have mastered it, it may have saved him from his death-by-steaming.

This isn't really anything new...just trying to win a prize for having the blog with the most pictures of people putting lobsters in a pot.
I don't know if it's really necessary to put the brick on top, but it's pretty funny.

We got some new lobster utensils to make the eating part a bit easier.

Hangin' with the Boys

Adam loves sitting at the big boy table now. We're probably going to get him a booster seat in the next couple of days.
Here he is enjoying some sips with the boys. Our friend "Big" Adam just moved here from California - so great to connect with him again. He is on the left, and of course Uncle Matt is on the right. "Little" Adam loved having his Uncle Matt here visiting and can't wait to see him again.

Another activity at the big boy table - cribbage. Many hours have been passed playing cribbage at various Swenson homes. Now there is a new generation to train in!

A Weekend of Birthday Fun

Last weekend was a busy weekend of birthdays for us. Adam had his first Virginia birthday party experience, and boy was it a fun one! His new friend Lucas had his party at the House of Bounce and we had so much fun! It's a place with lots of really big bouncy castles and slides.

Adam liked this one the best since it was nice and open. He was one of the littlest bouncers in attendance, but the older kids and dads were really good about watching out for him.

He didn't do too much jumping, but he loved running around, flopping against the walls and ground, and being bounced around by the bigger kids. He laughed pretty hard when that happened.

I got to have a night out to go to my good friend Rachel's birthday dinner. It is so fun that Rachel and I keep crossing paths - friends since elementary school! We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant at the National Harbor. It was nice to meet some new great people - a very fun night!
